Efficiency comparison:
High pressure propane burner - Advertised at using 60,000 BTU's to bring 5 gallons from 65 F to a boil in 20 minutes.
Electric elements - 6,174 BTU's are required to bring 5 gallons from 65 F to a boil in 20 minutes.
The reason it takes so much less for an electric system is because the heat is transferred directly into the wort utilizing
almost 100% of it's heating capability. With a gas system the majority of the heat is lost to the surrounding air and is
wasted.
